http://www.interiordesignsociety.org/ The Interior Design Society site is a good example of proximity
and rhythm/repition. The navigation buttons being the same width and close together to almost be a continuation of the
photo segments above. The body text is perhaps a bit too close to the left hand navigation bar. I change that to equal,
at the least, the distance between the top navigation bar. The same example can be used to illustrate rhythm
as well. The navigational possibilites march in regular unison with the picture boxes above, highlighting the
notion of there being many steps in creating a well designed room.

http://monet.unk.edu/mona/ The site for the Museum of Nebraska Art demonsntrates the elements of texture/pattern
and typography. The texture of the grid of grey aligned grey boxes suggest many things, building bricks or blocks, types
of metal working, graph paper, and in a pinch, the work of Sol Lewitt or Pietr Mondrian. The texture draws the eye across
the page effectively. The logo of MONA is effective typography within the confines of the grid, but created in a way
that explores the possibilities in the space between things (the "of) between the feet of the R and the T in ART), perhaps
suggestive of vegetation growing between bricks.

Lab 2 Design Statement The website I'm working on serves
a few purposes. The first is as a marketing tool to promote the work of my dance company. It is also intended
as a platform for myself, company members, and board of directors to share their thoughts about how the work of the dance
company fits in their notions of the human conversation. It is also meant as a way to promote the outside work that
most dancers have, to create a sense of community and to promote any other activities and professions they are involved in,
either within the dance community or beyond. As a designer, my goal is to use my novice level skill with the tools
at hand as best I can. I would expect that the quality and funcationality of the production website would improve as
my skills do. My goal is get as facile with those tools as I am in the studio. As mentioned above, the intended
audience is primarily current and past participants (dancers, board members, supporters, audience, press).
